Your Voice in Government

New York City Special Riggers Association

In 2013, a number of façade restoration, sidewalk shed and scaffolding industry professionals came together to establish the New York City Special Riggers Association (NYCSRA), providing a unified voice for this vital industry that maintains and restores NYC’s historic buildings.

Recognizing a need for clearer guidance, stronger communication, and a shared commitment to safety, a group of dedicated professionals united with a common purpose: to strengthen relationships with the Department of Buildings and NYC Council  and enhance safety standards for the benefit of both workers and the public.

Today, NYCSRA maintains an active partnership with city agencies and elected officials, fostering an open dialogue, collaboration, and advocacy. Together, we address industry challenges, promote common sense changes to oversight and compliance, and continually advance the safety, professionalism, and integrity of our trade.

Stay Compliant & Informed

Regulations in the rigging industry are constantly evolving, and staying compliant is essential for both safety and success. NYCSRA keeps you informed with the latest NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) and OSHA updates, ensuring you have the knowledge and resources to navigate changes in codes, compliance, and best practices.

Advocate for Your Industry

Special Riggers deserve a seat at the table when it comes to shaping policies that impact their work. NYCSRA serves as a powerful voice in government, advocating for fair regulations and industry recognition. We work closely with city officials, the DOB, and other agencies to address concerns, improve oversight, and ensure that the perspectives of Special Riggers are heard and valued.

Grow Your Network

Success in the rigging industry isn’t just about skills—it’s also about connections. NYCSRA provides exclusive networking opportunities, bringing together Special Riggers, industry leaders, and key stakeholders from across the five boroughs. Whether through technical seminars, industry events, or collaborative meetings, our members gain access to valuable relationships that help strengthen their businesses and expand their opportunities
